Q. What's CarryOut Directory?

A. CarryOut Directory is a niche listing of carryout restaurants that offer carryout food for people who like to bring along their food but do not have time to prepare them.

Q. How does CarryOut Directory work?

A. CarryOut Directory is an "internal" search engine utility that locates restaurants entered in its database. The search tool allows customers to look for carryout listings in a particular state which can also be narrowed down according to area by entering the city and or zip code. The search can be narrowed down further according to cuisine (e.g., Chinese, Japanese, etc) by using the dropdown menu.

Site visitors may also search the restaurant by entering the name of the restaurant in the Name of Restaurant field.

Q. Do I need to sign-up for an account to use online ordering?

A. Yes, but not to worry, all your information is kept secured. CarryOut Directory implements SSL (Secured Socket Layer) pages to protect your data, if you see the padlock symbol next to the URL bar you know you are safe. We DO NOT sell or trade your information, all information you provide will ONLY be used to get the orders to you and for contact purposes if the restaurant needs to contact you regarding your order.

Q. Does CarryOut Directory list only those that offer carryout?

A. Yes, no more no less.

Q. Can I submit a favorite restaurant to your list?

A. Most certainly, just fill out the Suggest a Restaurant form. Once information is verified to be accurate by our staff, listings will be live.

RESTAURANT OWNERS:

Q. How does my restaurant receive orders from the website?

A. You can receive orders several ways -- via email, fax, printer or through our exclusive real-time (OMS) Order Management System (PC required). With the exception of email (which is free), each has its own cost.

Q. What if my fax machine, PC, printer is not where my staff can see orders coming in?

A. Not a problem, we offer SMS text message notifications to your mobile phone to alert you of new orders.

Q. Can I accept credit cards online?

A. Yes. You can opt to use our secured payment gateway to accept credit card payments which we strongly recommend so all orders coming in are already paid for. (minimal fees apply without the hassle of applying and maintaining your own secured payment gateway)

Q. Can I use my own Web address (domain name)?

A. Yes, you will need to purchase your own domain name such as www.restaurantname.com and then (forward) it to your CarryOut Directory online ordering website. If you register your domain at a place like GoDaddy.com or 1and1.com, they typically offer this forwarding service for free. Or even better we will do it for you for a minimal charge to keep things simple for you so you can do what you do best; running your business.

Q. Are there any limits? For example, menu items, customers, orders, etc.?

A. No, Add as many categories and menu items as you want; accept as many orders as your restaurant can fill; increasing your bottom line while offering your customers the added convenience thus making them happy.

Q. Can I get my restaurant listed under "Featured Restaurants"? How do I get there?

A. Yes. Restaurants included in this section are randomly selected by our system. However, the system also accommodates "insertions" for those who request to be featured for a designated period. Requests for insertions under Featured Restaurants may require a service fee depending on the length of the exposure.

Q. What do you do to restaurants listed in your site that mislead customers into believing they are carryout but are not?

A. If we find any of the restaurants listed to have violated our Terms of Use, we advice them by email of such violation immediately and request the replacement of their content or to unsubscribe from our service. If no action is taken in 3-days time we remove them immediately.

Q. I forgot my login and password, where do I get help?

A. All login info may be retrieved by requesting for it at the sign-up page under "Forgot Password".

Q. I seem to have problems using the Control Panel, any suggestions?

A. Your Control Panel comes with a Help Guide to guide your every step of the way to using the Control Panel. If you still have problems, please contact our support department at: support@carryoutdirectory.com.

ADVERTISERS:

Q. Do you offer pop-up ads?

A. No. We want your customers to enjoy their stay on our site and be able to find the information they need as quickly as possible. Pop-up banners or pop-under have not been considered by CarryOut Directory in the near or long terms as part of our advertising services.

Q. Do you offer non-related ads?

A. CarryOut Directory is a niche site and advertising non-related items may dilute the essence of the site to which it was primarily built for. CarryOut Directory therefore is not a venue for non-related or unwanted ads which we also think customers may not need.

Q. I want to advertise with CarryOut Directory but am not sure if they are relevant to the site, how do you qualify your advertisers?

A. CarryOut Directory accepts advertisements which are considered to be part of the "food chain" such as:

KooPons!:

Q. What is KooPons!?

A. KooPons! is an electronic version of newspaper clippings, flyers, and other paper based promotional materials that offer product promos and discounts of food establishments and restaurants.

Q. Why did CarryOut Directory come up with KooPons!ã?

A. The food & restaurant industry had already been tagged as among the top producers of waste in the US, with an average restaurant producing 50,000 lbs. of waste per year. This alone has an alarming impact on the environment. Acknowledging this fact, CarryOut Directory, through its own initiative and in conjunction with the Go Green movement of many restaurant associations, came up with a concept that can help lessen the carbon footprint of the food & restaurant industry on the environment. CarryOut Directory hopes that KooPons!ã would have a reverberating positive effect on our environment by enjoining restaurants and customers to choose e-coupons over paper-based coupons and thereby cut down on the amount of paper waste.

Q. How do I download KooPons!?

A. Downloading coupons is easy. All you need is internet access and your mobile phone. First, log on to the CarryOut Directory website (http://carryoutdirectory.com). From there, you would see the KooPons!ã Search Box. Just enter either the restaurant name, your city, or your Zip Code and click on search. You will then see the currently available KooPons!ã in your preferred locality. Choose the KooPon you prefer to download and click on “Send to Mobile”. A pop-up screen will then appear where you can type in your 10-digit mobile phone number then select your Carrier from the drop down menu. And finally, click on “I AGREE” and in just a matter of seconds you will receive your KooPon on your mobile phone.

Q. Can I share KooPons! with my friends?

A. Yes. After you download a KooPon, a pop-up screen will appear confirming that the KooPon had been sent to the mobile number you had entered. In this same screen, just type in the e-mail address of your friend. Don’t forget to type in as well your name and your e-mail address. Then at the bottom right portion, click on “Share KooPon!”

Your friend will then receive a link to the KooPon via his e-mail. All he’d need to do then is to just download the KooPon to his mobile phone.

Q. How do I use the KooPon I downloaded?

A. Use KooPons! as you would use any regular paper coupons. Just bring your mobile phone with the downloaded KooPon to the participating food establishment and show the KooPon text message to them.

Q. Do I need to sign up before I can download KooPons!?
