CarryOutDirectory.com started as a pet project in 2007 when I was searching for restaurant information online, only to find that the information available on the so-called online directories were not only all over the place but not exactly relevant to restaurants and details were scarce. Information available from existing restaurant websites were no help as contact information was hard to come by, and menus and specials were outdated, some from way back 2005.

When I first started out I wasn't quite sure where this project would take me, but as time passed and got to learn more about the workings and the impact of the restaurant industry on our environment my focus and dedication became clear. I wanted to put together a resource where visitors can come and get the information they need; menus, contact information, order food online, read and write customer reviews, mapping service to locate restaurants and so on. And where restaurant owners can avail of the latest technology to help them run their businesses more efficiently and profitably without the added burden of expense on technology. Provide them with the tools to help them conserve our resources while helping their business be more profitable by leveraging the internets advertising and marketing reach.

It took me however almost 2 years of painstaking work and quite a good amount of financial resources to get it to a point where I could launch the site, but along the way there was some inspiration and I felt compelled to take it on. Although we have a lot of ideas planned for the future of the site and its development we are hindered, as most of the ideas require more technical programming and funding, so they are slow being implemented.

CarryOutDirectory.com is a free site and non-profit in nature and our manpower and resources are limited. Nevertheless, I continue to be passionate about this project and continue the work and keep updating the listings to make information as up-to-date as possible and continue to build partnerships in the industry to get as much relevant restaurant information out to the public.

We are always looking for partners, volunteers and sponsors who would like to be involved in one way or another. We surely could use help spreading the word of this great service that is available to the public, financial support to keep us going, writing reviews on restaurants you have patronized, adding restaurants that you know of that are not on the directory, and by advertising your business on CarryOutDirectory.com.
